This is a hands free kit for entrances that are close to roads and public thruways. It combines a buried metal detection wand with a photocell for double detection. This helps prevent one of the detection devices from receiving a false detection either from non-entering vehicles or snow/physical blockage of eye. Available in 50’, 100’ or 150’.
This kit utilizes the two device as follows: when a car pulls up the metal will trigger the magnetic wand, connection half of the circuit. Then when the car is definitely an entering vehicle it will reach the photo eye and break the beam thus connecting the remainder of the circuit and opening the gate. This is extremely useful because either device by itself has some limitation. The magnetic wand picks up anything in an area that is moving metal – this includes bikes, fast moving traffic on a nearby road, and other false readings. The photo eye can be tripped by snow, heavy rain, debris, etc. By having them both dependent on each other makes it far less likely for a false detection.
The magnetic wand is an electromagnetic sensor that detects metal mass in motion providing a 12 foot radius of detection that allows hands free exit from automatic gate operators. The sensitivity of the wand is adjustable for individual requirements. The GTO Exit Wand has very low power consumption with a wide input voltage range that makes it ideal for battery applications. It is designed to reject line noise of 50 Hz or 60 Hz to improve its detection compatibilities near power lines.
